Monomethylamine

Monomethylamine is a basic alkyl amine and primary amine in its simplest form. It is a colorless gas co-produced with dimethylamine and trimethylamine and has a pungent ammonia odor. It is used as a basic chemical ingredient in the manufacture of several commercial compounds. Generally, it is sold as an anhydrous gas in pressurized containers or as a solution dissolved in water.

Monomethylamine is used in the manufacture of a variety of chemical derivatives such as: N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP), Monomethylethanolamine (MMEA) and Methyldiethanolamine (MDEA), Metam sodium, Triazines ..etc...

Monomethylamine is used in the production of:

Agricultural chemicals: herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, fumigants and soil disinfection.

Catalysts, used as a catalyst for the production of catalysts.

Explosives, for making water-gel explosives.

Fuel additives: As an additive to gasoline, as an anti-shock compound in aviation fuel.

Medicines: in the manufacture of antispasmodics and sedatives.

Chemicals used in photography: developing and endorsing photographs.

Solvents: in the manufacture of engineering resins, refining of lubricating oils, enamel coatings.
