Hexamethylene tetramine (Hexamine)
Specifications
Hexamethylene tetramine (Hexamine)
Hexamethylene tetramine is a derivative of formaldehyde. It is a white granular substance produced by the reaction of ammonia with formaldehyde. It has a high solubility in water and polar organic solvents. Hexamethylene tetramine is used in the production of other chemical compounds such as plastics, drugs, and additives in the rubber industry. Hexamine offers a range of advantages to producers such as cross-linking (and waterproofing) and as a substitute for formaldehyde when used in an acidic aqueous environment.
Main areas of use of hexamethylene tetramine:
As a curing agent for industrial phenolic resins (Novolac resins).
Manufacture of rubber film and coatings to connect cross-links or as a hardening agent.
plastic industries.
Production of explosive materials used in mining.
Pharmaceutical and food industries.
field of analytical chemistry.
As dry fuel - fuel tablets.
As a chemical intermediate / chemical manufacture.
As a disinfectant for livestock.
As a preservative/antimicrobial.
as a corrosion inhibitor.
Foam industry.
Manufacture of synthetic resins.
Pharmaceutical industry.
Materials industry used in photography.
metal industries.
